My name is Yaz and I’m a 20 year old student from the UK. I’m currently studying a degree in Ancient History and have just completed my second year (meaning I’m one year away from graduation…yikes!).
More importantly, I like to write. And this summer I am doing the biggest, most exciting (and also terrifying) thing I’ve ever done. So why not document it? I hope to be able to look back at this and smile – or maybe laugh/cry – and also it could be entertaining for others to read, who knows!
My ‘thing’ is volunteering across the world for a WHOLE MONTH! It definitely is going to be the most challenging adventure I have undertaken so far in my life but I am super excited.
I am taking part in a month long Think Pacific expedition to the Fiji Islands, where I will be living among the locals in a rural Fijian village and teaching through both education and sports projects in the village school. It’s going to be tough but it’s going to be incredible (more on the project in an upcoming post).
As well as visiting Fiji, I will be going on a pit-stop tour of the other side of the world while I’m there, featuring 6 other countries!
It is now T-13 days until I leave for my travels and my first stop on this adventure is Singapore. I am nowhere near ready yet, and have to get LOTS more things as well as pack it all and keep up with documenting this whole journey.
If you want to keep up with my adventure, see what I’m taking, where I’m going and what I’m planning to do, then by all means subscribe to my mailing list so you don’t miss a post. They’ll be coming thick and fast as I rush to get ready to leave so keep your eyes peeled!
It’s going to be one hell of an adventure!
