Sorry for such sporadic posts! It’s been a little crazy and I haven’t had much time to stop and think, let alone write! But it’s been a good thing as I’ve been having the most amazing time.
I left off with us in Singapore on my last post. Since then we enjoyed one last day there – going to the Botanic Gardens in the rain, see Haji Lane, going up to the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Platform and visiting the ArtScience museum. We finished up our visit with dinner on the river. And then early the next morning (4am early) we were off to the airport for a 9 and a half hour flight to Auckland, New Zealand!
NEW ZEALAND – 30th June-4th July
I think New Zealand is the most beautiful country I have ever seen. The landscape is stunning, the people are wonderful and honestly, everything is just so beautiful! Plus there are loads of cows everywhere which are SO CUTE!
We stayed with Ali’s family, and his cousin chauffeured us around for the whole trip. We stayed in two Airbnb’s they organised for us in two different areas so we could see as much as possible in our short time there. They went above and beyond it felt like a luxury holiday and not your standard backpacking! It was so lovely for them to do this for us and I am so thankful and so grateful.
We went from Auckland > Rotorua > Matamata > Hahei > Auckland and saw the Hot Springs, Hobbiton (its amazing, especially if you are a Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit fan), the Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove (my favourite) and then went up Mount Eden back in Auckland.
It went by way too fast and I want to go back already but it was time to move on for this trip.
We are now in FIJI ! We got here this evening (4th July) and are staying in Bamboo Beach Hostel for a couple nights before our Think Pacific project starts.
It’s very exciting and nerve wracking and over whelming. I can’t believe after months of planning and waiting we are actually here. It’s going to be one hell of a month. After thinking about what it’s going to be like for so long, in a couple of days I’ll actually find out. And still, it doesn’t seem real!
